About Dr. Adele MacKay

Dr. Adele MacKay is a Florida Licensed Psychologist whose office is located in the northern part of West Palm Beach, Florida. She has over 30 years of experience as a Clinical Psychologist covering a wide range of experience both as a Clinical Psychologist and Registered Nurse. As such, she will provide you with care that is compassionate and comprehensive specifically designed to address your issues and problems.

Throughout your therapeutic experience with Dr. MacKay, she will support and challenge you in a setting that is confidential and safe. She utilizes a combination of therapeutic methods with an emphasis on a cognitive behavioral approach to enable each person to grow toward and maximize emotional and physical well-being.

Dr. MacKay provides a confidential setting where a person can feel safe, respected and understood. Of utmost importance is Dr MacKay’s attention to the special characteristics of each of her clients and the best ways to enable each person to achieve an optimal healthy life.

Dr. MacKay’s treatment approaches encompass several modalities inclusive of cognitive-behavioral, humanistic and psychodynamic therapy. Therapy involves a process of growth, learning and behaving more adaptively. Effective therapy involves not only an understanding of one’s thoughts and issues, but also the application of more adaptive ways to deal with life’s problems and stress.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

Dr. MacKay was born in Canada and came to Florida by way of New Jersey with her husband, a clinical psychologist, at that time. After working a brief period of time as a registered nurse, she returned to graduate school to obtain a doctorate in clinical psychology. She is the proud mother of a daughter who is active in the corporate world.

Dr. MacKay enjoys working out daily, singing, reading and socializing with family and friends, whenever possible. Traveling to new locations and events is especially enjoyable with her daughter.
